“I’ve been hearing more and more talk about psychics, awakening, the Universe, ETC…what is going on? Has everyone lost their minds?”
Nope, they haven’t and yes psychics are real.
More and more people are talking about awakening because they ARE awakening! When we awaken our views change and our senses heighten…thus psychic abilities become more prominent. For years I thought I was going crazy and I was always afraid. Once I started opening my eyes, I saw the beauty in all of this. Trust me folks, there is a lot of beauty! Yes, even right now in what seems to be one of the darkest periods of our generation…there is still beauty if you open your eyes AND your mind.
Now let’s get back to the main question here, are psychics real?
Well I’m going to be 100% honest with you, I’ve had great readings and I’ve had one really bad one that almost turned me away from psychics for good.
Let’s talk about that one shall we?
19 year old me had just had a bad breakup and I was looking for some answers, some guidance, anything really. I had always been interested in psychics and at this time in my life I was desperate so I decided to make the call.
I arrived to her office with a puffy red face from crying and a air of desperation about me…she picked up on this right away. I sat down, she took one look at me and said “You have a broken heart. A curse has been placed on you and unless it is lifted you will never find love.” You guys, this was the ENTIRE reading. It lasted about 15 minutes.
I asked her how to lift this “curse” and she told me she could do it for $600. Well I only had $400. She was kind enough to give me a discount… There was never any follow up on her part, no ceremony, not even a candle lit in front of me. I went back to her office looking for answers and all she said was “curse is removed, can you please run to Outback to pick up my food order?”
I stood there in shock, what the BLEEP just happened?
Sure this is all humorous now (and super embarrassing) but unfortunately stuff like this happens every day and it gives the rest of us a bad name. I will not sit here and say that she is a fraud because she very well could have legitimate intuitive gifts. Perhaps saw me as an easy target when she herself was in a rough patch. Who knows?
Here are some red flags when it comes to psychic mediums
They tell you you have had a curse placed on you.
They are “fishing” for information
They let YOU do most of the talking
The reading is heavy with negative information or vibration
There are no mentions of guides, angels, etc…
Your 1 hour reading lasts 15 minutes….
So now that I’ve told you the red flags, let’s talk about what REAL psychic mediums are like.
First thing is first, we didn’t just wake up one day and say to ourselves “ya know what? I think I am going to grow up to be a psychic! Everyone loves and accepts a psychic!” In fact, most of us will wholeheartedly admit that this stuff scared the crap out of us at one point in time. We remember things happening throughout our lives but we did our best to shut it out and it just didn’t work. It took YEARS for most of us to come to terms with our gifts and we’ve had our set-backs.
We put a lot of time and effort into development. Sure our gifts are naturally there but that doesn’t mean we are born knowing how to utilize and manage them. All of this takes time, practice, effort, and even sometimes mentoring.
It’s not like they portray on TV. It’s not scary (once you know what you’re doing), we don’t see dead people walking around everywhere (most of us anyways), and we can’t just tell you what you are thinking at the drop of a hat. That’s not how any of this works! There is a process and it takes a lot of energy to connect to spirit, even if it’s our own!
We LOVE what we do! I seriously love love love connecting with spirit, I love teaching people to connect with spirit, and I love giving readings. It’s incredibly amazing to connect a mother with her deceased son, it’s so comforting to connect two sisters, but really…for me… my favorite part is connecting people with their guides. When someone is connected with their guide or higher-self and they are given information about their OWN life and how to better themselves; it’s unexplainably rewarding.
To receive an email 5 months after a reading about how you connecting them with their guides completely changed their life makes everything worth it. To know that you truly helped someone come out of a darkness they didn’t think they could survive makes all of the years of work, all of the doubt, and all of the snide comments worth it.
A true medium loves what they do because they are helping people and that is what we were put here to do. Whether they are helping through teaching, readings, cards, or energy healing a true medium loves to help people.
Compassion is in our blood. We can find the good in everyone…even those we know we should stay away from. Mediums are sensitive people and we love with open hearts but this is draining for us too. We often go through psychic burnout’s and while we don’t mean too this puts us in an exhausted and sometimes even depressed state. Bear with us friend’s and family, we are doing our best!
So yes, psychic medium’s are real. They have real hurdles to jump just like you, they have to build their skill and continue their education just like you, and they get completely drained…just like you.
